My Birth Place

Nepal Jhapa Damak

Damak - A Paradise in the Earth!!Mostly on the map of Nepal we included many major cities and highlighted them with bright colours, so that today or someday we might visit there, but we didn't included one of the major city in the country , i.e. DAMAK.
Damak is situated in the western part of Jhapa district, which lies in the eastern part of Nepal.Damak lies between the boarder of Ratuwa and Mawa rivers, beside it itself acts as a boarder of Jhapa and Morang District, and Mechi and Koshi Zone too.
Seperated into 19 wards, the total area of this city is 7531 hector ,which spreads from north to south. Nine of the wards touches the highway, i.e. the Mahendra Highway. Ward no.10,11,12,13 and 14 lies in the bazar area. With132 meters above the sea level, it has Lakhanpur in its east, Urlabari, Rajghat and Madhumalla in the west and Chulachuli Illam and Kohabari V.D.C in the north and the south, respectively. The total population of Damak municipality is about 58590 in which 76.93% are literate.
People of Damak are very nice. They are easy to co-operate with. Because of their friendly nature you will be willing to visit them. Oftenmostly Damak is the residence of the Tharus, Rajbansis, Mongolians, Aryans and many other castes and sub-castes.
The favourite hangout place in Damak is 'The Himalayan Tea garden','Mini Palace' of The Himalayan Tea Garden, 'banks of Ratuwa river' and the famous 'Ratuwa bridge' from where the sun sets more beautifully than ever. Even the mountains seems to be mightier. Damak truely is gifted by nature.
In conclusion, there is much more to see in Damak. Provided the fact that its just in its development face, Nepal's tallest telecom tower stands there. Anyone who loves travelling and loves to visit new places should visit Damak atleast once. After that u will be willing to visit it twice and many more times.
